Remove old logo + rebrand

Already branded?
Assess the garment before you promise the result.

Suitable garments can be unpicked and embroidered with new branding. Standard unpicking is R20 excl. VAT per garment for each old logo position, plus the new embroidery. The replacement logo must be able to cover the previous stitch footprint.

Pre-assessment

Check the risk before bringing the garments in.

This tool does not replace physical inspection. It identifies whether standard unpicking is likely suitable, inspection-only or unsuitable for an automatic removal quote.

WAITING FOR DETAILS

Upload a clear old-logo photo with the order.

The physical garment is still inspected before unpicking is approved.

Fabric guidance

Not every garment should be unpicked.

LIKELY SUITABLE FOR ASSESSMENT

Stable, substantial fabrics

Cotton twill, canvas, denim and substantial cotton/poly workwear are generally better candidates, provided the replacement logo covers the old footprint.

INSPECTION REQUIRED

Knits, fleece and bonded fabrics

Pique golf shirts, hoodies, fleece, softshell and polyester jackets can retain puckering, compression marks or visible needle holes.

NOT STANDARD UNPICKING

Delicate, coated and technical fabrics

Leather, suede, vinyl, silk/satin, thin performance polyester, technical sportswear, microfibre, open knits, rib-knit beanies, waterproof membranes and coated rainwear require manual review or a covering solution.

UNPICK / COVER / REJECT

The professional finish is the decision rule.

Embroiders will unpick where safe, recommend a larger embroidered patch or covering treatment where removal would expose damage, and reject the method where neither route can produce a professional result.

Bring the garment or submit a clear photograph of the existing embroidery with its approximate dimensions. The order builder carries the assessment into production review.

Removal questions

What to know before unpicking.

Can an embroidered logo be removed?+

Sometimes. Stable fabrics are often better candidates, while delicate, coated, technical or highly perforated fabrics can retain visible damage. Every rebrand job is subject to inspection.

How much does embroidery unpicking cost?+

Standard unpicking is R20 excl. VAT per garment for each old logo position when the garment is suitable for standard removal.

Will the old logo leave holes?+

It can. Needle holes, puckering, compression marks, fading or fibre damage can remain, especially on high-risk fabrics or dense embroidery.

Does the new logo need to be larger than the old one?+

The replacement branding needs to cover the old embroidery footprint if marks remain. If the new logo is smaller in width or height, the job is sent for manual review.

What happens if unpicking is not recommended?+

Embroiders may assess a larger embroidered patch or another covering solution instead of removing the existing embroidery.
