Logo digitising

A logo file is not automatically an embroidery file.

Embroidery digitising translates artwork into stitch instructions: stitch type, order, direction, density and machine movement. A DST file is one common production format.

01

Artwork first

Send the best available PNG, JPG, PDF, SVG, AI or EPS file. Vector artwork is helpful but still needs embroidery preparation.

02

DST files

If you already have the correct DST for the logo and intended scale, upload it with the order.

03

Stitch count

A digitised file can provide the stitch count, giving the calculator a stronger production pricing basis than physical size alone.

04

Setup review

Any digitising or setup charge is confirmed after artwork review unless a fixed production rate has been configured.

Questions buyers ask

Before you send the job.

What is a DST file?+

A DST is a machine-embroidery stitch file containing stitch movement information used during embroidery production.

Is a vector logo the same as a DST file?+

No. Vector artwork describes shapes; embroidery digitising converts artwork into stitch instructions suitable for the garment, size and production method.

How many stitches are in a typical company logo?+

There is no reliable universal stitch count for a company logo. Stitch count changes with physical size, filled areas, borders, lettering, stitch type and density, which is why a dense crest and a simple wordmark can price differently at the same dimensions.

What artwork file is best for embroidery?+

Send the best source artwork available. Vector PDF, SVG, EPS or AI can be useful for preparation, while an approved DST is the machine-embroidery stitch file when the logo has already been digitised for the intended production size.
